IMO 1: Maintaining a set walking speed in a corridor
PASS1. Definition
One person walks along a corridor 2 m wide and 40 m long. The person’s set walking speed is 1 m/s.

3. What to expect
The person covers the 40 m in 40 s. IMO gives no tolerance.
Our criterion: Evacuation time ~ d/v +/- 20%

5. Our implementation
Deviations from the standard:
- The set walking speed is 1.2 m/s, not 1 m/s.
- The person starts at a random position in the first 2 m of the corridor, and the exit is a 2 m strip at the far end (x = 38 m to 40 m) that removes the person on contact. The walked distance is therefore about 36 m to 38 m, not 40 m.
- The pass rule is the suite’s own: the evacuation time must lie within 20 % of 38 m / 1.2 m/s = 31.7 s, that is between 25.3 s and 38.0 s. The standard’s 40 s at 1 m/s is not tested directly.
- A second check requires the agent’s centre to stay at least its radius, less 1 mm, inside the corridor. This check is the suite’s own.
- The agent uses the suite’s default body radius of 0.15 m and one seed (42). The scenario is built in code (tests/vv/test_imo.py).
